This is a high-quality trilobite of Drotops armatus, which was mined near Zireg, Morocco. With about 100 freestanding spines, it would have been a very unappetising dinner for its predators.
It is 11 cm long on 5.5 cm wide, well inflated and very well prepared. All the spines are original and the preparation in this example is excellent.
The shell is naturally multi-coloured and changes along the length of the trilobite from slightly grey to more golden.
On the trilobite you can see a black area, which was due to pyrite. Beautiful shell preservation.
This is a fairly rare type of Drotops armatos, which is very hard to find on the market.
The beautiful item is carefully packaged and shipped with tracking number.
