Volumes III and IV bound in one, engraved title page for each volume, 31 + 31 tipped-in plates, pages 96 + 72, printed in London by Fisher Son & Co. certainly in 1843.
The plates are engravings of steel plates by Thomas Allom, and show the major cities of China, while the texts are by George Wright, a Protestant missionary who had spent a lot of time in China.
Beautiful and unique leather cover surrounded by a golden frieze and embossed design, spine with title, friezes, raised bands and golden panes, size: 28.5 x 22.5 cm.
A very beautiful and well illustrated work, in good condition. It will be packaged with the utmost care and shipped with tracking number.
