A gorgeous pair of recent marble dust lions, likely a replica of the two lions made by Canova for the monument to Pope Clement XIII between 1783 and 1792, also known as the “sleeping” and the “crouching.”Both show signs of wear, as pictured.

These two wild beasts are allegorical figures symbolising strength.
Dimensions: 31 x 11 x 21 cm. Each lion weighs over 10 kg.
