Jacques de Montholon, Arrests de la cour prononcez en robbes rouges depuis le parlement commençant à la Sainct Martin 1580 jusques à Noël 1621.
Paris, Claude Cramoisy, 1622. Quarto, -307-pp.
First edition of this significant work which was frequently republished in the 17th century.
Handwritten bookplate on the endpaper and at the end of the first table of the Mayenne lawyer Charles-François Michel de Puisard (1753-1834) who later became president of the court of Angers. His son, Charles-Pierre (1786-1860), was also a lawyer and married the daughter of the lawyer and Masonic dignitary Jean-Jacques Duboys (1768-1845). The work comes directly from the heirs of these prominent figures.
Period full sheepskin binding, damaged and with some lacks but sound, evenly yellowed paper, small wormholes in the inner margins, a small cut in the margin of the title page.
Interesting provenance, a work which has become rare.
