Volume 1 - 2 endpapers, 2 title pages, 2 pages of the “épitre dédicatoire à Cuvier”, 2 pages of preface, 4 pages of methodical table, pages numbered from 1 to 364, 13 plates 8 of which are botanical in nature (and not 7 as it says in the second volume in the note to the bookbinder) and 5 of mineralogy. In both volumes the plates were bound at the end of each volume and not as noted in the “avis au relieur” (note to the bookbinder) (see photo).
Dampstains here and there. Very slightly blunted headcaps (photos) light rubbing on the corners and the upper gutter (photos).
Volume 2 - 2 endpapers, 2 title pages, 4 pages of methodical table, 10 pages of explanation on the plates of the second volume, pages numbered from 1 to 398, 1 page of the note to the bookbinder on where to put the plates, which was not respected by the bookbinder, the plates were bound at the end of each volume. 20 plates, 5 of which are insects, 1 plate of fish, 1 plate of reptiles, 6 plates of mammals, 1 plate of molluscs and annelids, 1 plate of crustaceans, 5 plates of birds, 2 endpapers.
Dampstains here and there, some light rubbing.
Collated, complete. Beautiful bindings in good condition.
