Circa 1st-3rd Century AD

A fine Ancient Roman restrung necklace composed of black glass beads of different shapes and dimensions. There is a large, central bead as a feature. During Roman times, glass became extremely popular, used not only for creating elaborate vessels but also to embellish jewellery.

Measurements: circa 39cm folded length

Provenance: Ex. Enfield Collection, acquired in 2013-2015.
