Salvador Dali "Le tamanoir" 1930 bookplate.
Raine Maria Rilke
"La Chanson d'Amour et de Mort du Cornette Christoph Rilke"
Copy on Hollande paper, No. 54.
First edition of the French translation.
Paris, Kra, 1927; octavo, 31 pp., paperback, printed cover with flaps.
Mention in pencil signed by the publisher Simon Kra:
"Exemplaire de André Breton"
on the flyleaf above Dali’s bookplate.
An emblematic work of surrealism!
André Breton published some of his major works such as Les manifestes du surréalisme (1924), Anthologie de l'humour noir (1940) up to La clef des champs (1953) from 1924 onwards with the publisher Simon Kra "Le Sagittaire".
A very well preserved book, the paper is still nice and white, light wear on the spine and lightly browned covers (the shiny aspect on the photo comes from the (removable) plastic protection), a pronounced side fold on the body of the volume, a pale halo on the justification page, otherwise
a lovely copy.
