Ancient Roman Glass Restrung Beaded Necklace

Ancient Roman Glass Restrung Beaded Necklace
Circa 1st-2nd Century AD

An Ancient Roman restrung necklace composed of beautiful glass beads in different shades and hues of blue. While most of the beads are circular, there are a few featured beads which are squared and larger, as a unique feature. It was the mass production of glass in the Roman Empire that prompted the development of glass jewellery.

Measurements: circa 19cm half length folded

Provenance: Ex. Enfield Collection, acquired in 2013-2015.
