Italy - Drape Tapestry Italian Risorgimento 1848 five days of Milan Giovanni Berchet

Description
Italy - Drape Tapestry Italian Risorgimento 1848 five days of Milan Giovanni Berchet
Original - Very good condition

Beautiful hand-embroidered moire cloth, reproducing an Italian eagle that strangles the heads of the Habsburg eagle between its talons. The Risorgimento motto of Giovanni Berchet (died in 1851) allows us to date the cloth around 1848, the year of revolutionary patriotic movements that culminated in the famous Five Days of Milan.
The embroidery is of beautiful workmanship, rich in details and shades of colour.
It could not be otherwise for a relic of this importance.
Original guaranteed
Size: 50 x 31 cm (on the back the cloth is folded, if fully extended the size would be greater)
