Stick with zoomorphic representations on the extremities, a swan's head on one end and an antelope's head on the other. The decoration of this type of utensil with animals may have been due to the attribution of magical power in the propitiatory nature of hunting, but it may also be the result of the direct and daily contact that the Egyptians had with the landscape that surrounded them in the heart of the Nile. The theory of it being an instrument for ritual use is further supported by the residual traces of hieroglyphic writing on it.
