Beautiful Carrara marble sculpture representing a child sitting on the ground and struggling with a snake.
The sculpture is inspired by an episode in the life of the childhood of Hercules: enraged by Zeus' adultery with the mortal Alcmena, Hera is said to have tried to kill the baby Hercules, the offspring of Zeus' infidelity.
Period: second half of 20th century.
From an Italian private collection.
