Tastevin - Silver - France - Late 18th century

Description
Tastevin - Silver - France - Late 18th century
Excellent condition - barely used with minimal signs of aging & wear - 99 g

Excellent specimen of wine taster, in perfect condition, with minimal signs of wear.

Has a thick beautiful fretted "fleur de lys" thumb grip as well as thumb ring.

Judging by its elegance and overall appearance, as well as the typical fleur de lys motif it is most probably of French origin.

The item has been subject to extensive polishing throughout time, as there are two stamped marks present but sadly they are illegible.

It has on one side elegantly engraved "J. PERRAN" name that was surely
subsequently added, as the marks that are close are much more faded as the writing.

The cup was acid tested, silver is genuine somewhere around .800 or under finesse.

The lot weighs 99 grams, and measures 82 mm in diameter, 117 mm long, and about 25 mm high.
