Set of 3 decorative historic earthenware plates intended for wall hanging; No. 4, 5 and 11 in the series dedicated to uniforms of the French army, produced in 1880 by the earthenware factory of Mouzin Brothers and Co. in Onnaing (France).
They are decorated around the edge with a raised decoration of plant motifs, and in the centre with types and uniforms of the French army (Third Republic) bearing the following captions:
For plate no. 4: ‘Engineer, baggage train’
For plate no. 5: 'Prussian mounted troops'.
For plate no. 11: ‘Cochinchinese riflemen, Senegalese rifleman, Senegalese Spahi’
Each plate measures 18.3 cm across. They are in very good condition, as shown in the pictures. The defects of plate no. 11 are shown in the pictures.
