Biondi Santi is considered the father of the Brunello di Montalcino. he wrote the history of this extraordinary territory. top brands among the top 10 in Italy.

The Biondi Santi family, owner of the Greppo Estate for generations, is a real institution of Montalcino viticulture: the progenitor Ferruccio Biondi Santi was the first to value the pure vinification of Sangiovese, successfully overcoming the difficult period between the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century with the viral spread of powdery mildew, downy mildew and phylloxera and the outbreak of the First World War, so much so that it was described in 1932 by an interministerial commission in charge of the study of the Montalcino territory as the actual inventor of Brunello. His son Tancredi continued the work of enhancing full-bodied red wines based on Sangiovese, called to give advice from producers from all over Italy who were fascinated by the prestige of Brunello Biondi Santi.
