Ancient Roman Bronze Figurine of Mercury (Hermes) - 6.7 cm

Ancient Roman Bronze Figurine of Mercury (Hermes) - 6.7 cm
1st.-3rd. Century AD.

Ancient Roman Bronze Figure of a Mercury (Hermes), wearing Chiton a winged hat-petasus, wigned sandals and a purse in his right hand ( as a god of trade, heraldry, merchants, commerce, roads, sports, travelers)
Masterfully made from the skillfully ancient hand with a fine and exquisite style, elegant movement (not static!) and with perfect proportions.
The figurines of Mercury are probably one of the most common in the antiquity but they are really rare in this beautifull style balanced proportions.
Scratches over the body and face, otherwise in very good grade of preservation without any broken detail which is rare for figurines and a lovely olive green natural patina. See Photo
