Società Ceramica Richard: Giulio Richard, a Piedmontese of Swiss origin, took over the factory from Tinelli on 23rd May 1842. He had a great vision for small production, and so not only did the kilns of the factory begin to produce precious artefacts, aimed at the rich, but also pottery and earthenware for everyday use. Encouraged by the success of the company and its sales, Richard founded the Società Ceramica Richard on 23 February 1873, with headquarters in Milan and factories in San Cristoforo, Palosco and Sovere (the latter two were later to be closed). On 11 October 1896 the Società Ceramica Richard merged with Porcellana Ginori based in Doccia.
