¶ Van Leningrad tot Berlijn tells the shocking history of the Dutch volunteers in service of the German Waffen-SS at the Easternd front. With the help of the newest documents from Moscow and Prague, for the first time the military history of the largest Dutch volunteer unit, the legion, the brigade and later the division is sketched. The battles at the river of Volkhov to the Narva, of Yugoslavia to the end battle in Berlin are discussed in detail here. The book exposes one of the darkest chapters of recent Dutch history.

Between 1941 and 1945 more than 20,000 Dutchmen were volunteers for the German Waffen-SS. Among other things they took part in the crusade against bolshevism. The author, a young publicist, delved into the lives and revelations of these fanatical, idealistic and/or confused collaborators at the Eastern front. The defeat of the Third Reich was also their defeat. The detailed account is preceded by a short summary of the origin.
