Chinese steengoed schotel uit Swatow, Wanli-periode (ca. 1600–1620), diameter 26 cm, hoogte 4,5 cm, onderglazuur kobaltblauw met een vogeldessin, onglazuurde onderkant en geglazuurde rand onderzijde, één object met herkomst Galeriehouder / Antiekhandelaar, in perfecte staat.

Description
A fine Chinese stoneware charger, Swatow (Zhangzhou) ware, dating to the late Ming dynasty, late 16th to early 17th century. Decorated in underglaze cobalt blue with a lively depiction of a bird, painted in a free and spontaneous manner typical of Swatow wares from southern China.
The underside of the rim is glazed, while the base is left unglazed — a characteristic feature of this type of export stoneware. These pieces were made primarily for Southeast Asian and European markets during the Ming period and are admired for their expressive painting style and rustic charm.
