Three impressive, heavy Sommerso bowls, designed by René Delvenne in the 1970's for Val Saint Lambert in Belgium. This model goes by the name "PATELLE" and is designed by René Delvenne in the 1970's and made by Val Saint Lambert in Belgiium. Patelle is seen here in three of Val Saint Lambert's favourite colours, a striking pink, a beautiful blue and a brilliant yellow. The deep-cut Sommerso swirls meet together in the middle creating a clear crystal base and low foot-pedestal. That the bowls are hand-made can be concluded by the slight differences in size and weight. The pink and yellow bowls both weigh 1950 grams and are almost the same size (22 x 25 and 22,5 x 22,5). The blue bowl is significantly heavier at 2450 grams and is slightly larger at 23 x 23cm. The pink and yellow bowls are signed on the base "Val St. Lambert". The blue bowl is unmarked. Val Saint Lambert crystal has a high lead content of 33-40% instead of the standard 24%. This extra lead content gives the piece a gorgeous quality and clarity. The brilliance of this crystal when placed in the light is stunning. A beautiful addition to a crystal collection. All three bowls are in excellent condition with only slight scratching on the base due to movement. Careful packaging will ensure a safe delivery. (See my feedback on Catawiki).
