The machine was equipped with a full keyboard, i.e. for each character there was a separate type bar (type lever) and a separate key.
For the first time ever, type lever joints were used in the Smith Premier for ease of use. In order to improve the line straightness, the standard key levers were replaced by rotating shafts.
The inventor of the "Smith Premier" was Alexander Timothy Brown, the machine was manufactured by the Smith Premier Typewriter Company, Syracuse, NY, USA, which had its roots in the rifle factory L.C. Smith & Brothers.
Condition: optically good, technically functional (dry colour ribbon), original paint, was superficially cleaned.
