Kunst - Aantal: 1 - Boek

George BRAQUE (1882-1963), French painter and sculptor, was an extraordinary innovator of the 20th-century art. Initiator of Cubism together with Picasso. The two artists worked together for a long time, moving from Analytical Cubism to Hermetic Cubism, until the appearance of “collage” and thus Synthetic Cubism in 1912, always working together. Miró’s works, like those by his friend Picasso, can be found in the most important museums all over the world.
Publisher-gallerist Maeght dedicated many books of the “Derrière le Miroir” series to him.
Here is proposed the no. 166, printed in 1967. It’s a 32-page book (including the cover) with loose sheets (170 gsm heavy paper) in the usual 38 x 28 cm format.
The volume contains 7 lithographic reproductions in colour, of which 3 in double page, some drawings, 8 full-page black and white photos taken by Mariette Lachaud in summer 1963, which depict the master at work. The book is in very good condition, only the cover spine is quite worn in some places (see photos). A work in overall excellent condition. The magazine “Croniques” is attached as a gift. Insured shipping.
