I present a rarity: the Escoffier rifle with its bayonet of the same number ‘P 17’, used by the Italian navy.
After 1860, the Italian Navy purchased 12,000 Enfield Rifles (produced by Felix Escoffier) of the 1858 model, which was named model 1862.
Total length: 123.19 cm
Barrel length: 83.82 cm
calibre: 14.7 mm (equal to 0.577 thousandths of an inch);
Weight: 3.956 kg
In Italy, it was issued to the Royal Corps of the Royal Naval Regiment.
After 1868, it was converted into a Tabatière rifle. Some small spots of ‘orange peel’ texture, nothing serious, powerful mechanism, in very good overall condition.
Parcel shipped with tracking, well-protected.
