Aeby & Landry was founded in 1873 by Johann Aeby and Constant Felicien Landry in Madretsch. After the death of Johannes Aeby, his sons Alfred (1850-1911) and Léo (1860-1893) took over the watch factory.
Very well maintained Lepine pocket watch with magnificent ornamentation.
The solid case is made of silver - stamped 0,800 and more.
The back lid was designed by a relief artist. Depiction of St. George fighting the dragon. Masterful work. Relief very well maintained - inscription S. GEORGIVSEQVITVMPATROMS.
The enamel dial is very well maintained. Very beautiful Arabic numerals in black: finely embellished original steel hands - gold coloured. Small second recessed at six o'clock. Golden dotted minute scale with Arabic multiples of 5 running around the outside.
Deep engraved embellishments in the sides.
Fire gold-plated movement with interesting structure - anchor escapement - movement mark Sphinx
The movement works.
Dust lid likewise made of silver.
Hands set via push button and turning the crown.
The closes tightly.
Very good overall condition. Watch diameter 50 mm with pendant 75 mm. Weight: 95 g
