A late Ming dish, Tianqi period for the Japanese Market. So called Ko-Sometsuke ware or "Old dyed Blue and White".
The dish is decorated with a scholar sitting under bamboo bending in the wind under a full moon. Bamboo, which bends without breaking, has long been a symbol of integrity and strength.
Dimensions: W14.5 x 2H cm
Condition: In good condition with the mushikui or ‘moth-eaten’ edges, one small hairline and a flake of the footrim.
