The iconic property of Bernard Magrez continues to produce consistently beautiful wines and this includes its sensational 2010. The fruit was harvested between September 24 and October 20, and the result is an opaque purple blend with equal parts, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, which obtained 13.5% natural alcohol. Subtle notions of smoke, graphite, oak, black cherries and blackberries jump out of the glass of this impressively fragrant clarity. Medium to full-bodied, strikingly elegant and less thick and intense than a structured ring like 2005, 2010 has a remarkably sweet tannin (sweeter than in 2005), as well as a long, full-bodied finish. It should be drinkable at an early age and kept for 20-25 years.
