This is a tele lens Leitz, made in Germany, suitable for use with the Leica Visoflex system, the Leitz code is TLCOO (or 11766).
It's a 400mm F:5 Telyt with attached lens hood, serial number 1366484 (c.1959), with M39 mount (but it cannot be used directly on Leica screw mount cameras).
It must be used in combination with the Visoflex I or with the Visoflex II or III (with these two it's necessary to use the OUBIO ring).
To use it "directly" on Leica screw mount camera it requires a special tube (TZFOO) and SQTOO finder.
In this set, in addition to the lens is present it's Leitz finder, code SQTOO and a tube like the TZFOO.
But it isn't Leitz, I think that it was self-made, even if it's well done.
Obviously using the lens with this tube, you can check the framing with its viewfinder but you can not use the rangefinder, the focus is by estimating the distance.
As is possible to see from the pictures the lens is in nice condition, with some signs of use (please remember its age and its dimension...).
Focusing is smooth and regular, the diaphragms works well and the blades are oil free.
There are some dust and impurities inside, it's difficult to clean the rear lens.
There is a "halo" visible from the rear of the lens, coating "damaged"?, oil evaporation?.
It comes with caps and a rare UVa filter.
A nice set for the Leica collector, not easy to find.
The Leica IIIF photographed isn't included in the auction, it was photographed for demonstration purposes only.
