Bust portrait of Lucius Vero Roman Co-Emperor from the second century A.D. with emperor Marcus Aurelius.
This piece is an exact copy made in 1970, from mould of the original exhibited at the National Bardo Museum in Tunisia. There is no other known copy.
Lucius Vero is depicted with a large hair and beard, with a look of great vivacity in his eyes, which makes it one of the main works of the statuary discovered to date in Roman Africa. It comes from the archaeological site of Dougga in Tunisia.
It is made of marble structure and natural resins. Iron rod and hand-carved and bush hammered marble stand.
Dimensions with stand 83 centimetres.
Bust 54 centimetres high x 33 centimetres wide x 16.5 centimetres deep.
Stand of 20 centimetres high x 29 centimetres wide x 14 centimetres deep.
Very heavy piece of around 50 kilograms. It is shipped in prepared box with high density foam corking, tracking number and insured.
