Swiss watch manufacture
In 1926, Swiss watch manufacturer Philippe Hüther founded the Tudor watch brand in the canton of Neuchâtel.
Rolex founder Hans Wilsdorf acquired from Philippe Hüther all the rights to Tudor in 1936. Wilsdorf had the idea to establish a new (cheaper) sister brand to Rolex.
Interesting collector's watch by Tutor with restored black dial.
Year of manufacture of the watch: around 1955
Restored black dial with gold coloured wedge indices. Large central second hand. Gold coloured hands, inscribed TUTOR under the twelve and precision above the six.
Fine hand-wound movement - calibre 1132 (stamped next to the balance). Inscribed Tutor 17 Rubies Swiss Made.
The movement works well.
Crown with oyster patent and Swiss cross.
Screwed back lid - inside inscribed with TUTOR GENEVA SWITZERLAND patented stainless steel - outside 37992 7804
Watch size: 34 mm without crown - with crown 37 mm - weight 48 g
Fine brown leather strap. Strap width: 18 mm. Overall length 22.5 cm. The leather strap will not be delivered to countries outside of the EU.
Interesting "little sister" to the Oyster Perpetual of Rolex with restored dial and original movement.
Beautiful condition with only slight signs of wear.
