Fully engraved work. Excellent prints on vellum, each board is accompanied by a white sheet as tissue paper.
Chronicle in pictures of the popular heroism and the high military and civil deeds of the Revolution, the Consulate and the Empire, here augmented by many plates compared to the first edition (1803-1805) including the Napoleonic campaigns after 1805, until the entry of Charles X in Paris in December 1824, but also plates on Jean Bart, Joan of Arc etc
Beautiful copy established in 3 bindings of the time, in the style of the restoration, executed in red half morocco, smooth spines decorated with an elegant gilded décor forming compartments with in the center a five-pointed cross iron with 10 points with in the center three fleurs-de-lys, cardboard dishes coated with paper imitating maroquin with long seed , decorated with a framed lace, all golden slices.
Each volume opens with an engraved false title and title page. Each sheet is occupied in its upper part by a print whose legend is entirely engraved and calligraphed appears under said print.

Solid and decorative bindings despite the defects of use: friction, leather a little past, traces on the dishes, corners restored, head cap of volume 1 restored, departure of a small slit on the first joint of volume 1. Fresh and clean interior, some scattered freckles mainly marginal, more or less dense, without gravity.
