A very lovely copy of this rare Almanach Royal, in portable octodecimo format (114 x 64 mm), relating to the year 1777, the third of Louis XVI’s reign.
Bound in luxurious period red full morocco binding, spine with five raised bands adorned with compartments with a repeated fleuron in the centre, a broad dentelle frame on the covers, fillets on the cover edges and fillet rolls inside, all edges gilded, blue silk endpapers.
In very good condition, a micro lack on the corner of the headcap and two corners of the cover are damaged. Fresh and clean inside.

The Almanach Royal is a directory of the French administration. It presented each year, in the official order of precedence, the list of members of the
royal family of France, princes de sang, and the main branches of the kingdom: Great Officers of the Crown, members of the high clergy, abbots of the great abbeys (with the income of each abbey), marshals of France, etc.
