Extraordinary sculpture of a great outstanding work of polychromy, flesh-colour and golden, made with a high degree of mastery. The Granada School of Sculpture was born from the 16th century, until it was fully defined in the 17th century. The extraordinary artistic activity developed in Renaissance Granada, with the presence of great national and foreign artists, was what consolidated the foundations for this school of sculpture to emerge.
The names that mark the three moments of initiation, development and culmination of these Granada styles are, respectively, Diego de Siloé, Pablo de Rojas and Alonso Cano. The features established by the style of the latter are those that we properly attribute to the Granada school.
