First edition of the chronicle of King Ferdinand IV, being imaginary the news of the existence of a previous edition of Burgos, 1513 (v. Fernández Valladares, II-1459). CLXXXVI [i.e. CLXXXVIII] folios, including title page in two colours, great xylographic engraving of King Alfonso XI on horseback. Two-column printing, in Gothic script of 48 lines per page. Wood engraved initials.
First edition of this sought after chronicle. The exact author of the work is unknown. It could be the Constable of Castile Juan Núñez de Villasán, but it is believed that he was only a copyist and the author could be Fernán Sánchez de Valladolid.

Very rare factitious volume with five of the rarest and most sought after Castilian chronicles printed in Spain: Fernando III, Alfonso X, Sancho the Brave, Fernando the Saint, and Alfonso XI, the latter two in the first edition.
