Important work of the Navarre-born physician and philosopher Juan De
Huarte ( 1530-1600 ), translated into Italian (from Spanish)
by M. Camillo Camilli.
It discusses the natural skills and inclinations of the various human minds.

" The author elegantly examined the physiognomy theories of his time, and described the most intimate
relationships that, in his opinion, existed between physiognomy, physiology and psychology.
Huarte argued, for example, that all those who had military intelligence, manifested it through
having a bald head"
(B. Vasco).

Beautiful late 18th-century hardcover decorated with a handwritten portion on a paper label on the spine.
Please not slight wear at the corners of the panels.
Sheets overall very well preserved, without tears, stains, stamps or erasures, including the title page, with Aldine anchor and dolphin, uncut.
Slight, sporadic foxing on the sheets and rather spoiled upper trimming (see photos), but without any lack of text.
Pages 300/301 are incorrectly indicated as 258/283.
Bookplate of Weillschott/Guastalla on the counter-panels.
In good overall condition.
