Egypt Painted and Described by Talbot Kelly.
This beautifull book is made to give a broadly pictorial representation of the life, scenery and fascination of the country, and particularly those phases of each which lie off the beaten track.
First published in 1902 with 75 coloured illustrations/paintings -even like this one. NB. Later editions only have mostly only 35 illustrations!
The illustrations have been engraved and printed by the Hentschel Colourtype Process.
The letterpress has been printed by Messrs. R. & R. Clark, Edinburgh.
Every plate is protected by a thin sheet with printed title of the plate.
The backstrip has some signs of wear. The cover is still very good. The binding perfect. Inside: -All pages and pantings are nearly 'as good as new'!
A very attractive book with beautifull cover and backstrip with orange pantings and title/symbolic ornaments in gold.
This book really shows the beauty of the worlds oldest 'sunshine' country.
