Rare work by Jeanne Ire de Naples, aka Queen Jeanne, born around 13261 in Naples, died on 27 July 13822, 3 in Muro Lucano (Naples), murdered by order of her cousin, Charles de Duras.

Daughter of Charles of Anjou (1298-1328), Duke of Calabria, and Marie of Valois, she became Queen of Naples, Countess of Provence and Princess of Achaia

The binding is in good condition, book in its full contemporary calfskin, the boards and the spine are in good condition, rubbing from use, torn off headcap, blunt corners, small splits in the hinges, small fragments missing on the surface of the spine, fragment missing on the tailcap, all edges red, decorated spine with raised bands, gilded titling on morocco label.

Interior in good condition, the first two pages of text are missing, some light foxing, worming in the margin, small headpiece, beautiful dropcap, tailpieces, marbled endpapers.
