Gold pendant decorated in open work with a central cross composed of very fine granules, each arm terminating in a stylised beast head. A loop at the top for suspension. This pendant is the result of the fusion of Viking and early Christian symbolism. Size: 4.1 cm D (excluding loop) - 1 5/8” - 4.5 cm L (with loop) - 1 13/16” Material: Gold, 8.6 grms Culture: Viking, c. 9th Century A.D. Condition: Intact Provenance: European private collection, acquired in Belgium in the 1990s. The seller guarantees that this item has been legally acquired & will be legally exported, related documents seen by Catawiki. This item do not need an export licence within the EU.
