A Catholic devotional work illustrated by 168 copper-plate engravings, possibly by Abraham Bosse. The half-page illustrations serve to accompany the text and meditation of each page and move chronologically through the life of Christ. The beautiful font used for the text imitates hand-writing. I could locate only three copies of this book worldwide - one at the Getty Center, and another two in French libraries. 8vo (18.5 x 11.5cm), [iii], 168 engravings, [i]. A few light instances of damp-staining, antique inscriptions to a few pages. Bound in contemporary calf with blind-stamps boards, joints cracking a bit at head and tail, rubbed. A lovely little book.
