 A rare vase in yellow by Åseda Glasbruk, designed by Bo Borgström in the 1970s.

This stand out piece in a delicious satisfying yellow featured as pattern no 5/691 in the 1971-1973 Catalogue form Åseda Glasbruk.

It has a very striking form, featuring a clear bottom which merges into the rich yellow body of the vase. The top is a perfect sphere ending in a lightly flared rim.
A vase in perfect proportion, stunning in its simplicity and elegance , showcasing the true craftsmanship and genius of Bo Borgström.

It is in excellent condition. The label has partially disappeared, but is clearly identifiable. Measurements are as follows: 20cm high, base ⌀ 6.5cm, top ⌀ 8.5cm with an opening of ⌀6.5cm. The sphere is at it widest 10cm, it weighs 640g.

One of 6 Siblings Bo Hugo Roland Borgström was born 1929 in Stockholm, beginning his studies in 1947 at the Konstfack (Stockholms University of Arts, Crafts and Design) graduating in 1951. At the start of his career he concentrated on ceramics, quickly becoming an accomplished and renown artist. He ran his own studio Svensk Form in Vigg by Holm form 1955 to 1961. Becoming artistic director of Åseda Glasbruk in 1961 he went on to heavily influence the Swedish glass art scene, with his simple, yet striking forms and intense colours, featuring vases and other objects.
Today his work is represented in numerous Musea in Sweden and are desired collectors items for seeming timeless and for their excellent quality.
