Night of the Dolls Shuji Terayama Shinshokan/1975/japanese/153*170*10 The Night of the Dolls” is a collection of works by Shuji Terayama, one of the leading avant-garde artists in postwar Japan. Shuji Terayama began writing haiku in high school and tanka poems in college, and was highly acclaimed for his talent at a young age. In the 1970s, he performed in theater and film both in Japan and abroad, and even though he passed away at the young age of 47, he continues to be a hugely popular artist due to his avant-garde work in many fields. This book is from the “For Ladies” series of paperback editions published by Shinshokan in the 70's. It includes a poem by Terayama, a portrait of a doll at the beginning of the book by Saku Sawatari, and art direction of the book by Akira Uno.
