Piet Hein - Kandelaber Stor sju-armet lysestake - Store bjørn / Store bjørn - Stål - MAXI
Danish polymath Piet Hein was not only a scientist, mathematician, inventor, writer and poet, but also one of the many leading masters of mid-century Danish design.
Piet Hein designed this elegant 7-armed candelabra while living in Argentina in 1943. Inspired by the constellation Ursa Major (“Great Bear”, “The Plough”, or “Big Dipper”), it was the first in a series of candleholders based on star formations and the planets.
The candelabra is formed from brushed steel. It is the MAXI example of the Great Bear, 63 cm in height (see stock photo #2). The 7 branches can be individually adjusted, and placed in a straight line or circle. It is in vintage, near-mint condition with only minor patina, without dents, cracks or major blemishes. The candelabra comes without the original box. The stem is labelled with the Piet Hein logo.
NB - candles are not included.
The seller takes great care packing (see reviews) and ships securely with insurance.
