2015 Vallegre, Vista Alegre Tawny - Colheita Port - Porto - 3 Flasker (0,75 l)

Vallegre, 2015 Vista Alegre Colheita Tawny Port 3 x 0.75L 3 Bottles Port Wine WINEMAKER: Fátima Lopes, César Pinacho & Miguel Martins. WINE VARIETIES: Batch of 23 varieties from old vines, with a predominance of Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Amarela, Sousão, Tinta Barroca & Tinto Cão. VINIFICATION Grapes, from a single harvest, are hand-picked into small transport boxes and vinified in accordance with the traditional Port Wine method. After partial destemming, the grapes are crushed in stone presses with foot treading. The fermentation of the must occurs at a controlled temperature and is interrupted by the addition of brandy. This wine, as it is produced, has great aging potential. Single harvest wine, aged in oak casks for a minimum period of 7 years. The year of bottling is indicated on the back label. TASTING NOTES Striking notes of ripe fig, dried fruits such as walnuts and almonds, a touch of vanilla, and exotic wood from oak aging. Delicate hints of candied fruit and a light touch of spice also emerge, adding complexity and elegance. Good structure and balance, with intense flavors of raisins, honey, and chocolate, accompanied by nuances of caramel and toasted dried fruit. Vibrant acidity adds freshness, and the finish is long, smooth, and enveloping. SERVING A pleasant accompaniment with dried fruits: almonds, raisins, peaches and apricots. It also goes well with sweet desserts, with eggs or dried fruit pies, coffee and vanilla. However, it is a wine that can be perfectly drunk on its own, chilled or at the end of a meal. Store upright, in a cool, dry place, away from light and temperature fluctuations. Serve at a temperature between 14ºC and 16ºC. Consume in moderation. HISTORY The head office is located at Quinta da Vista Alegre, in the heart of the oldest Demarcated Winegrowing Region in the world - the Demarcated Douro Region - in the Cima Corgo sub-region, just a few kilometres from Pinhão. The unspoilt and magnificent surrounding landscape, given its privileged geographical location, offers visitors breathtaking views of the Douro River. Its points of interest are of outstanding natural beauty, in perfect harmony with nature, remaining etched in memory through a sharpened sense of sight - unique pleasures in the love of rurality, the scenery and nature itself. The Quinta's vineyards have a long-recognised history of producing wine, dating back to the 19th century. This is the conclusion drawn from books specialized in strain typologies and from some of the abandoned terraces, known as "mortórios". At the start of the 1970s, the company changed from a sole proprietorship into a limited liability company under the name - Sociedade Agrícola Barros S.A.. In May 1998, the company changed its name to VALLEGRE -Vinhos do Porto, S.A., resulting from the merging of the names of two of its most important Quintas - Valle Longo and Vista Alegre - but retaining its markedly family nature that spans five generations. Thus, VALLEGRE is a private, family-based, modern, entrepreneurial and dynamic company. Creativity, Innovation, Quality, Customer Satisfaction´s Principles, Well-being of employees and Respect for the Environment, are laid down in the Mission, Vision and Values of the Company. The production of DOC (Controlled/Protected Denomination of Origin) wines continues to be its primary aim: DO Porto, DO Douro and DO Moscatel Douro of the highest quality which are nationally and internationally renowned. Nowadays, the wines are sold and enjoyed in over twenty seven countries and the countless prizes and distinctions achieved in several international competitions prove the excellence of our quality. PLEASE NOTE: This is a recurring auction. The seal number(s) you see on the photos might differ from the one(s) on your bottle(s).
