Paul Adrien Maurice Dirac (8 August 1902 in Bristol, England - 20 October 1984 in Tallahassee, Florida, United States) was a British mathematician and physicist. He is one of the "fathers" of quantum mechanics and predicted the existence of antimatter. He was co-winner of the 1933 Nobel Prize in Physics "for the discovery of new and useful forms of atomic theory" with Erwin Schroeder.
Some consider him the second theoretical physicist of the 20th century just after Einstein and probably on par with Feynman.
Abraham Pais (19 May 1918 - 28 July 2000) was a Dutch physicist and quantum physics theorist, colleague, partner and friend of Albert Einstein. His most important contributions concern modern elementary particle theory, with the development of the concept of "atomic nuclei".
Julius Robert Oppenheimer (22 April 1904 in New York - 18 February 1967 in Princeton, New Jersey, USA) was an American physicist who distinguished himself in theoretical physics and then as scientific director of the Manhattan Project. Because of his prominent role, he was regularly dubbed the "father of the atomic bomb."
