Charlotte Molenkamp - Gouden licht

Charlotte Molenkamp, daughter of painter Nico Molenkamp, initially began painting in lyrical expressionist style. Later she moved on to a looser style of painting with a free relation to visual reality. Through her use of form, colour and composition, Molenkamp creates her own reality.

The colourful work balances on the edge of figuration and abstraction. Nature, animal and human figures can still be recognized, but because of the expressive, dynamic style, pure painting is increasingly put on the foreground. With her paintings, the artist wants to mainly express her inner observations.
