Blek Le Rat (1951) - "Gold Rat on Black Canvas"

An incredibly rare opportunity to acquire an original hand painted example from the iconic French street artist "Blek Le Rat". This classic example is simply entitled "Gold Rat on Black Canvas" featuring his signature Rat silhouette for which he is best known for.

Blek le Rat, born Xavier Prou (1952) was one of the first graffiti artists in Paris, and has been described as the "Father of stencil graffiti", undoubtedly an icon in the street art scene! British graffiti artist Banksy has acknowledged Blek's influence stating "every time I think I've painted something slightly original, I find out that Blek Le Rat has done it as well, only twenty years earlier".

This is an original and unique hand stenciled / sprayed artwork being on canvas stretched onto a wood frame. it is signed in the bottom right hand corner by the artist also being accompanied by a hand signed COA issued by the artist himself.
