A nicely carved coat of arms of the Chigi family.
The Chigi family is a Roman princely family of Sienese extraction. Its members include famous Italians like Agostino Chigi (1465–1520), who commissioned the Villa Farnesina in Rome, and pope Alexander VII (1599-1677).
In the 18th and 19th century, the family name and its crest were expanded through marriages with members of other noble families (now bearing the name Chigi Albani della Rovere).
