This sculpture was made by Tosca van Oorschot (1965, Amsterdam), lives and works in Diemen.
The beauty and humour of the animal kingdom intrigue her.
The hilarious behaviour of animals, with sometimes human characteristics, amuses her. Beauty and humour converge in her animal sculptures.
The work of modern animaliers inspires her. It is her aim to provide pleasure to the viewer with her creations. For herself, working on her animal sculptures is a source of joy.
The material she uses is bronze or neolith. (A kind of resin filled with marble powder.) She attended the Wackers Academy and the Higher education school for the Arts in Amsterdam. Her work is sold both domestically and abroad, and is exhibited in various galleries in The Netherlands.
