Beautiful original etching from 1932 by Jules De Bruycker, with a beautiful depiction of a street in the historic centre of Ghent, near the Sint-Baafskathedraal.
"Rue Saint-Bavon" is the title of the etching.
Today this is the Kapittelstraat, which opens onto the cathedral, coming from the Nederpolder. The side street on the left is the Hoofdkerkstraat.
See how beautifully De Bruycker captures the light of the street lamp.
Signed on the bottom right.
Jules De Bruycker (Ghent 1870 - 1945), like James Ensor, is considered one of the most important Flemish etchers.
He was a virtuoso with etching technique and therefore particularly loved by a large audience of art lovers and collectors.
The work is in perfect condition and will be
sent with track & trace.
