Kaws (1974) - Small Lie Companion brown

This figure, titled “SMALL LIE”, was created by the internationally acclaimed artist KAWS (Brian Donnelly) in collaboration with MEDICOM TOY and AllRightsReserved, and released in 2017. The piece was originally inspired by the monumental 10-meter wooden sculpture of the same name, first exhibited at Yorkshire Sculpture Park, UK, in 2016.

The SMALL LIE figure embodies a powerful emotional narrative — its bowed head and drooping posture evoke guilt, vulnerability, and introspection. Unlike the confident stance of KAWS’s “COMPANION,” this work reveals a fragile, human side, resonating deeply with the viewer’s empathy.

The Black Edition is one of three colorways (alongside Grey and Brown), finished in a matte tone that enhances its sculptural silhouette. The figure retains all signature KAWS details: the “XX” eyes, gloved hands, and iconic crossbones-style head.
