Very decorative chairs with ornate bentwood backrest, colour: Deep beech wood with a beautiful wood grain with a warm colour, a classic example from the 1960s / 70s of a beloved design. These nostalgic bistro chairs are handmade and have a sturdy rattan hand-woven / woven webbing seat; very nice workmanship; an eye-catcher for any interior after an original design by Michael Thonet.
The chairs from this lot are made at FMG in Poland, no later than the 1950s / 60s.
FMG stands for: Fabryka Mebli Giętych No 1 , formed after a fusion of Thonet Mundus and Fabryka Mebli Giętych No 2 .
In ca. 1955 FMG further merged into Fameg.
In a fine and solid condition, still good for many years of use.
