Tabako'bon 煙草盆 (conjunto para fumar) - Laca, Prata, Cobre - Japão - Período Edo Tardio (primeira metade do século XIX)
A refined lacquered tabako-bon 煙草盆 (smoking set) richly decorated with cranes 鶴 (tsuru) and plum blossoms 梅 (ume).
The rectangular box is fitted with a rectangular silver handle and hinges finely incised in relief with stacked blossoms. The upper surface holds a removable copper brazier with a loop handle, its domed cover engraved with cranes in flight amid drifting clouds, accompanied by a smaller matching ash or match holder.
The front of the box is fitted with one large and two smaller drawers, each with refined handles shaped like stylised birds, and hinged hooks designed to rest a kiseru pipe. The entire surface is lavishly adorned in hiramaki-e 平蒔絵 (low-relief lacquer) in gold, silver, and black, depicting graceful cranes flying above blossoming plum trees, set against a black lacquer ground.
Period: Japan – Late Edo period (first half 19th century).

Height 19.5 cm, Width 21.4 cm, Depth 12.8 cm.
In good original condition, with only minor wear consistent with age, such as small areas of lacquer loss along the rims. Please refer to the photos for a clear condition reference.
